In connection with the opening of Atuarfik Inussuk, various dates have been set for moving in and the start of school care at AKO Inussuk in Nuuk.
On both days, the staff will be ready to welcome the children at the entrance between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.
Students in grades 2–3:
Students from Atuarfik Inussuk who are currently enrolled in the after-school care programs:
• Qajaasat
• Narsaviaq
will be moving into the after-school care program at AKO Inussuk on Monday, August 10, 2026
Upcoming 1st-grade classes:
Incoming first-grade classes will start at AKO Inussuk on Thursday, August 13, 2026
Traffic and Bus Stop
Since there is a lot of traffic in the city center, we urge parents and guardians to remind their children to use crosswalks when crossing the street and to be considerate of other road users.
A traffic plan has been developed for the area around the school, and a bus stop has been established at Atuarfik Inussuk. Separate information regarding traffic conditions and the practical arrangements for dropping off and picking up students will be provided before the start of the school year.
There is a parking area in front of AKO, marked in orange. It’s called “Kiss and Ride”:
Pull over briefly, drop off your child, stay in the car, and drive on. Parking is one-way from Kongevej toward Aqqusinersuaq.
You can park in front of Brugseneeraq for an extended period of time.
