The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, and Church Affairs is pleased to announce that Arnannguaq Christiansen has been appointed principal of GUX Nuuk, effective August 1, 2026.
Arnannguaq Christiansen comes from “within our own ranks” from GUX in Nuuk, where in recent years she has, among other things, been responsible for teacher-training candidates, served as both a subject teacher and a subject consultant, sat on the exam committee, and at the same time pursued a master’s degree in didactics, cultural understanding, and change processes.
Arnannguaq Christiansen is known for his strong commitment and dedication, and also brings a wide range of practical experience from the high school system, along with in-depth knowledge of the many challenges that high schools and young people face every day—not least the cultural and linguistic ones.
With the appointment of Arnannguaq Christiansen, the Ministry believes that his many skills and strengths will ensure stability as well as innovative thinking for GUX in Nuuk in the coming years, and the Ministry therefore looks forward to working with the new rector.
