On Friday, June 5, 2026, Arctic Excursions held a reception at Hotel Hans Egede in Nuuk — a celebration of a new and improved booking platform, new physical sales kiosks, and a staffed office in the hotel lobby dedicated to sales and service, all now ready for the summer’s busy tourist season.
Arcticexcursions.com is Greenland Travel’s digital platform for excursions throughout Greenland. Its primary purpose is to connect local tour operators with visitors—regardless of the purpose of their trip or the season.
Mikkel Søndergård, Director of Greenland Travel, says: “With Arctic Excursions, we wanted to create a locally rooted digital sales platform where, together with local operators, we can help expand the range of experiences across destinations and seasons.”
“In our ongoing dialogue with the operators, we see that they place a strong emphasis on quality and product development. I am therefore optimistic that, over the next few years, we can work together to create new, memorable experiences and attractive local job opportunities in the tourism sector.”
With the new airports, there is increased demand for on-site sales to guests who arrive without having pre-booked experiences before departure. In addition, there is a demand for a more comprehensive online overview of local activities for guests who want to research and book on their own before departure, as well as for agents who arrange experiences for their customers.
Arctic Excursions is run on a day-to-day basis by a locally based team in Nuuk and Ilulissat, which, in addition to online sales, offers direct customer service and close communication with the tour operators.
Sales stands are located at HHE and HHE Express in Nuuk, as well as at Hotel Arctic and World of Greenland in Ilulissat. We are working to set up a stand in Qaqortoq and expand the product range in the region on our online platform before the end of the year.
Destination Manager Mike Kaas says: “We have long been looking forward to the launch of our new Bókun-based booking platform, which makes it much easier for operators to manage their sales and capacity across sales channels. My colleagues and I are looking forward to an intense and successful summer. We’re ready to sell our partners’ tours and look forward to contributing additional bookings to the amazing experiences we have the pleasure of offering through our platform. We are ready and looking forward to meeting guests, welcoming new operators, and further developing our partnerships with existing operators.”
